ST. LOUIS: A 50TH BIRTHDAY PARTY & A GRADUATION

Craig turned 50 on May 25.

Here's Sarah at a Dinoquest exhibit in the Missouri Botanical Gardens, St. Louis. She graduated from Oakville High School on May 23 and is now attending Oakville Community College.

St. Louis County has a large, diverse park system. One of Sandy's favorite places is Cliff Cave Park Trail.

HARLINGEN: A VISIT WITH MARK TWAIN

Mark Twain shares a joke with Bruce and Craig at Harlingen Library's patio during Craig's visit in July.

BOOK PROJECT

This working cover for my book shows footprints from my birth registration document, my parents' business card, and two photos from my childhood. Eighteen years ago I started writing stories about my past and this summer I'm finally putting the pieces together into a readable whole. The work is turning out to be engrossing but slow-going. Hopefully, next summer an honest-to-goodness book will be printed with an ISBN number and an Amazon.com offering.

PARK PROJECTS

Welders start the fence for the park's new automatic gate.

Workers install another section.

Finishing touches: the fence is painted white.

Aside from the installation of an automatic gate, resurfacing of the swimming pool was another big project in the park this summer. So that residents who are away for the summer can see what's been going on, Bruce made videos of the projects and also a video of cotton being harvested from a field near the park.
